My New Zealand Teaching Experience

My time in Room 14 has been such a wonderful experience. I immediately felt right at home! I am so lucky to have gotten a chance to get to know each student and share in their learning throughout the term. One of my favourite things to do with the class was to read with students, both in groups and individually. It always amazes me how much students can grow and change from day to day and week to week. I also enjoyed cheering on the Red Team during Challenging Choose-day. All of our competitors tried their very best which meant they were all winners and should feel very proud of their achievements. I will take all of my experiences here with Room 14 back to the United States with me and into my own classroom in the future. I will remember each and every one of you throughout my teaching career. Thank you for everything Room 14!

My first term in room 14

My best thing I did this term was going on the computers like on the wiki. I liked going on trips to BLC. But my best is challenging choose day!!!

Taniwhas

This term Room 14 did some taniwha art. We drew a taniwha with chalk on a big piece of paper. Next we coloured the taniwha with pastel in different colours. Then Mrs Rivett dyed the outlines of our taniwhas . After that we did the backgrounds for our taniwhas. We did it from light to dark on a bigger piece of paper. Then Mrs Rivett glued our taniwhas 3d on our background. I thought my one was fantastic !

Challenging Choose-day

On Tuesday we went into the hall and we had a challenge they had chopsticks, ropes, shapebox,

hula hoop, rob-the-nest and more things and my challenge was chopsticks. Ben, Jianxin,

Selena, Victoria, Thomas got a medal and room 11 got 1st place. Room 29 got 2nd place,

room 16 got 3rd place and everyone tried their best.

Challenging Choose -day

On challenging Choose-day my event was Hula Hooping I did not come

123 but I tried my best. Morgan did Skipping in 2 with Yazmin. Ella did gutter boards and almost

won but the ball dropped. Miss Fred shouted our names!

Challenging choose Day

On Tuesday we had Challenging Choose Day.First we lined up at the door and then we went to the hall and we sang WE ARE THE RED TEAM THE MIGHTY MIGHTY RED TEAM!We marched down the hall singing.Next we line up outside the hallway door.Then we started to walk inside

the hall,and started walking up on the stage and waving our hands.Later on we all went and sat down on the hallway floor.

Challenging Choose day

On Tuesday was year 4 Challenging Choose day. We had skipping, gutterboard and scatter ball.

I am number two and Selena and Victoria got 2nd.

Challenging Choose-Day

My favourite thing this term was P.E and Challenging Choose-Day plus Lake Pupuke but my most favourite thing was being in Mrs Rivett's class and Miss Fred while she has been here.
